"We
are challenging young people to
maximize their potential,
build their future,
and impact their life."
-Annette D. Ford, founder
There
are major shifts taking place in the workforce that certain
competencies are necessary to compete in our ever-changing
society. The technological age, change in demographics and
the demand for highly skilled workers are just a few of the
shifts. These competencies, along with reading and writing,
include computer skills, the ability to work in diverse groups,
problem solving, and the use of effective communication skills.
With the development of these skills, young people are more
likely to participate in postsecondary education and increase
opportunities to play a legitimate role in our economy.

In the words of founder, Annette D. Ford: "Through programs
designed to foster lifelong learning, this organization will
hone our youth's appetite for success and personal enrichment.
Take a moment to imagine the impact a generation of young
people, empowered with strong personal and financial discipline
will have on our society. You have just begun to bring the
organization's vision into focus. At F.U.N., we are encouraging
young people to exceed the status quo by envisioning their
futures as professionals, entrepreneurs, athletes, national
leaders, etc., and assisting them in preparing for their success.
In essence, our purpose is to act as a midwife for the dreams
of today's youth. We are challenging young people to maximize
their potential, build their future, and impact their life."
Our motto is:
